Tent Fumigation Service

When drywood termites spread through a home, they do not stay in one board. They colonize attic framing, window trim, door frames and furniture simultaneously. Tent fumigation is the one treatment engineered for that reality: the entire structure is sealed and treated at once, so no colony survives in a wall you cannot open.

What the Service Includes

  • Free on-site inspection and cubic-volume measurement
  • Firm written quote with our lowest price guarantee
  • Preparation walkthrough, checklist and bagging guidance
  • Licensed fumigation crew, tarps sealed and fumigant dosed to your structure
  • Aeration and instrument clearance testing before re-entry
  • 1-year retreatment guarantee, renewable annually

The Process, Step by Step

1. Inspection and measurement

A licensed inspector confirms the species (drywood, subterranean and Formosan termites need different answers), checks accessible framing, and measures the structure. Fumigation pricing is driven by cubic volume, roof type and complexity, so this visit produces your exact price, not an estimate range.

2. Preparation

Food, medicine and pet items are double-bagged in special nylon bags or removed; plants come away from the walls; you arrange a place to stay for 2 to 3 nights. Our preparation guide walks through every step, and your coordinator checks in before tent day.

3. Tenting and treatment

Crews seal the structure with large tarps, post warning signs, and introduce fumigant at a calculated dosage. Exposure runs 24 to 36 hours depending on volume, temperature and target pest. The property is secured and monitored while the tent is on.

4. Aeration and clearance

The tent comes off, the structure is ventilated with fans, and a licensed fumigator tests air samples throughout the home. Only when readings are at or below the legal clearance level is the home posted safe for re-entry.

Tent Fumigation vs. Spot and No-Tent Treatments

Spot treatments work when an infestation is caught early and is genuinely confined to wood you can reach. The honest tradeoff: drywood termites you cannot see stay alive, and no-tent treatments protect only the wood that was treated. Fumigation trades a few nights away from home for certainty across the whole structure. We lay out the full comparison on our tent vs. no-tent page, including when we recommend against tenting.

What It Costs

Most Central Florida homes fall between $1,800 and $3,500, with a typical single-family home around $2,500 to $2,800. The drivers are cubic volume, stories, roof style and how much prep the structure needs. Frequently Asked Questions

When is tent fumigation the right choice?

When drywood termites are in multiple rooms, in inaccessible framing, or in furniture, whole-structure fumigation is the only treatment that reaches all of them at once. If the infestation is small and truly localized, we will tell you honestly and offer spot treatment instead.

What fumigant do you use?

Licensed fumigators use sulfuryl fluoride (commonly known by the brand Vikane) with a chloropicrin warning agent, dosed to your structure's cubic volume and monitored under Florida Department of Agriculture rules.

Is fumigation safe for my family and pets?

The fumigant leaves no residue. After aeration, the structure is tested with sensitive instruments and only cleared for re-entry at or below the strict safety threshold. Families and pets return only after clearance is posted.

Will fumigation prevent future termites?

Fumigation eliminates the infestation present today but leaves no chemical residue, so it does not prevent a future swarm from re-infesting. That is why we include a 1-year retreatment guarantee and offer annual renewals, inspections and prevention advice.

Can you fumigate a condo or townhouse?

Often yes. Attached units can be fumigated when the whole connected structure is treated, which we coordinate with neighbors and HOAs. Ask us about your building.
